Vivian Castleberry, pioneer journalist, dies at age 95
OUR CONDOLENCES….
Dear NCJW Members and Friends,
We know you join with us in celebrating the life of Vivian Castleberry and in expressing our deepest sympathy to her family on their loss. One of Dallas’ pioneer journalists, Vivian was equally well known as a leading activist for women’s rights and international peace. Vivian died peacefully at her home on October 4th at the age of 95.
Vivian was also a loyal advocate, mentor and supporter of NCJW Dallas. In an article for the soon-to-be published history of our Section, Vivian wrote, “To read this book about the history of the National Council of Jewish Women, Greater Dallas Section’s first 100 years is to have a better understanding of the social, cultural and psychological changes that have moved Dallas forward in the last century.”
